          Workshop Overview

The Learning English: Achievement and Proficiency (LEAP) Levels is the tool teachers use to formatively assess the Standard Australian English (SAE) proficiency of EALD learners. Aligned with the Australian Curriculum Literacy Progressions, it supports assessment of oral and written language across all curriculum areas. This one-day workshop will focus on:

          • building knowledge about the language/grammar of the LEAP Levels 1-6 language [oral and early writing],
          • applying this knowledge through guided, collaborative and independent use of the LEAP Levels to assess samples of language and identify learning goals and
          • oral language and early/emergent writing.
